On January 7, 2020, the first version of the Practice-CE online editor was presented to the members of the "web-miditaur" group who studied the web development course.
With the help of this editor, practical work was carried out in the classes of the circle, which is why the editor got its name. Its first functional purpose was to record the time of practical work and visualize the code of the task. The results were recorded in the form of screenshots, which were shown on the monitor screen, or sent to the teacher's mailbox. The children were also interested in watching how using JavaScript you can create an editor for html, css, JavaScript code similar to w3school.
I was personally inspired by a similar editor on w3school, and another time my students asked me if I could create a similar editor. I simply had no other choice, because I needed to prove to my students that I could write code and I needed to show some authority among them. Taking into account the fact that CodeMirror was used as the basic component of the w3school code editor, I decided to demonstrate to the group participants that it is possible to create a similar editor for practical work without any problems, and they came up with the name themselves during the next practical work. The editor was immediately accepted easily by students of different age categories, and therefore the question of whether or not to be Practice-CE could no longer be questioned.
Of course, I exaggerated or embellished a bit when I used the expression "no problem". Behind each working version is a lot of wasted time, searching for ways to implement ideas. But the fact remains the fact - the editor was born and he began to fulfill his direct task! Those students who immediately started working with the editor, one can say from scratch, were not very eager to switch to Notepad++, because the simultaneous visualization of the written code was not enough.
Quarantine restrictions and distance learning also contributed to a kind of running-in of the Practice-CE editor during synchronous online classes. To be honest, he became a real lifesaver during the quarantine.
Today, the Practice-CE editor perfectly copes with its main task, has received significant improvements and will continue to develop.
This editor will be useful in the after-school education system, modules of training programs of vocational and technical education institutions also have web development topics. Teachers of general education educational institutions to study certain sections of the informatics program can also use the Practice-CE editor when studying topics related to web development.
